Bird Laws & The Wildlife And Countryside Act
In the UK, the protection of wildlife birds comes under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The basis of the Law states…’ ALL wild birds, their nests and eggs are protected by law.’
However, Ruarl England, that administer the 1981 Act, have concluded that certain species can be considered a pest, under certain circumstances. The list of pest birds include, Feral/wood pigeons, Collared doves, gulls, Canada geese and various corvids.
Special Licences have to be obtained to carry out any birdwork during the nesting season. Bird Control Sussex can obtain these licences for you and carry out any necessary work.
It is AGAINST the LAW, to interfere with any nest, without a licence. In January 2011 the law changed again.
