Decontamination Services

COVID-19 is making many businesses reassess their approach to pest-related contamination. Fouling associated with pests, especially birds and rats, can result in a wide variety of serious diseases, including ornithosis, psittacosis, histoplasmosis, salmonellosis, and leptospirosis.

As part of our waste removal service, we offer a comprehensive decontamination service for the eradication of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and rikettsiales (including Chlamydia, E coli O157, Salmonella, Listeria and Cryptococcus, etc.).

We use a powerful biocide that has been tested against adenovirus and Murine norovirus, in accordance with the European standard (EN14476:2013 + A2:2019) for demonstrating a disinfectant’s viricidal ability against an enveloped Vaccinia virus. It has demonstrated efficacy against various enveloped viruses – including Coronavirus, Influenza virus, Hepatitis B and C and Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

The biocide can be administered through conventional spraying or by using the Exodus ULV (ultra-low volume) machine that produces micro droplets to create a fine mist of disinfectant. This mist will fill any space – office, warehouse, shop, etc. – leaving a covering of disinfectant on all flat surfaces and killing all disease pathogens and viruses that may be present.

It should be noted, the disinfectant cannot penetrate layers of grime, and so it is most effective when used in combination with a comprehensive cleaning programme.

The treatment is designed to kill on contact; it offers no residual effect.

COVID-19 Disclaimer

SARS-CoV-2, the Coronavirus responsible for COVID-19, is new and industry biocides have not been directly tested against it. However, since SARS-CoV-2 acts like other Coronaviruses, it is highly probable the treatment will be equally effective.

It should be noted that, due to the virulent nature of SARS-CoV-2 this treatment does not offer a guarantee against further contamination. The primary means of transmission for this disease is person-to-person and via surfaces that have been touched by an infected person. Decontamination will remove the virus from infected surfaces but will not stop future contamination by an infected individual.

No liability will be present on Cleankill Pest Control should infection/contamination be made after completion of decontamination work.
